@Abdullah-Shahen @FII78 thanks for your interest. After checking in with the other maintainers, we found that we already have a not yet finalized version of the term, see: https://github.com/cncf/glossary/blob/main/content/en/load-balancer.md. We would be happy to see you folks updating and finalizing the existing one. |
@FII78 are you still interested? |
@iamNoah1 Sorry for the late response, yeah I'm still interested. |
Cool, just wanted to check in if it clear how to proceed? We have an existing definition already but it is not really ready: https://github.com/cncf/glossary/blob/main/content/en/load-balancer.md. You could jump in to help finalizing it. That would be super nice. @FII78 |
1. Please describe why this term needs to be added
What this term is about? (briefly)
A Load Balancer is a networking device or software component that distributes incoming network traffic across multiple servers or resources. Its purpose is to optimize resource utilization, improve the availability and reliability of applications, and ensure no single server becomes overwhelmed. This helps prevent server overload and ensures that all users have a smooth and responsive experience when accessing a website or application.
Why this term needs to be added? (briefly)
Load balancers play a vital role in the Operations of a Cloud Native application, and Cloud Native professionals need to understand the concept of it.
