I've heard there's a way to change the filesystem on the PI so that it uses a ramdisk while running instead of writing to the SD card. This allows for the system to be unplugged without worrying about filesystem corruption.
The task is to find out how to do it and document it so that its easy to switch back and forth between modes, for updating the programs and etc.
