Is it possible to immediately start vim (or any other script) before starting recording? #20

I'd like to do a couple of recordings of VIM usage, but I'd like to skip the part where I start VIM.
I couldn't find any command line parameter to specify the process to start and the default seems to be a new instance of my terminal.

Not an auto-start per se, but the --range option might help?
