There are still problems with latex rendering in the reactive islands section.

SOLVED

Text in paragraphs had distorted rendering due to the use of single underscores in labels for cross-referencing. Underscores are used as part of the Markdown syntax to indicate italicized text formatting. This is fine if underscores appear within an inline LaTeX equation environment indicated by $ . $.

Implications:

  • For other sections of the book with a similar issue, this seems to be the cause.
  • So, using single underscores in the text will have to be avoided, unless within $.$

This issue should not have been closed. There are still section labels and citations that are not rendered correctly in Chesnavich 1.

Please, check the second paragraph, top to bottom in the screenshot below.
You can see that in parentheses inline section-references are indicated by '#', a marker 'sec:' and a label name (e.g., dynamics).

These references are pointing nowhere since the labels of the sections are inexistent.
