There are several benefits of holding a society registration number that meetups will find beneficial:

  • Discounts for rentals
  • Tax write-offs for larger sponsors
  • Lower costs for services (digital, etc)

It would be helpful to have a proposal outlining these benefits with some detail. The material can be included on the site and will guide further discussion.

Government grants are another possibility.

Don't forget digital services too (unless that's what you meant) - for example Buffer has a non-profit plan
