Everyone, please... Nobody has sold out. We're nearly complete with our scala-based engine and we'll be open sourcing that after undergoing security penetration tests and other perf testing as well.

As anyone who has been reading bitcoin news lately can tell you, technology is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to trading platforms. Regulations and compliance with existing government laws holds the real challenge. It's complicated, expensive, and time consuming. So if you want to run a trading platform that is accessible by more than just a few people who know each other in real life, there are many obstacles.

Buttercoin is going to be releasing some technologies that we hope will unlock the power of bitcoin and enable people to finally use the technology in the ways Satoshi might originally have dreamed. Feel free to ask any more specific questions on this thread. I will do my best to answer.

Edit: Just read up a little on the progress of openex. Encouraging to see it's still going.

Any news on the Scala based version. This Node thing is a dependency hell.
