When trying to send coins from your wallet to yourself an error as follows is displayed:

I understand that it may make sense to warn the user that he is about to send coins to their own wallet, but I don't think it should be prevented altogether.

Here are just three reasons of the top of my head why people would want to send coins to their own wallet:

  • Consolidating wallets with lots of incoming transactions in times when fees are low
  • Easily splitting coins from forks without replay protection (e.g. most recently BCH/BCHA)
  • Testing purposes

Im sure there are more, but even without any reasons, the user should still have to option to send to themselves (after confirming a warning dialog) if they so chose.
