Subscriber error

I'm getting this error when trying to get data from gazebo under the "scan" topic. (error listed below)
ERROR] subscriber '/scan' got an error: Client [/goroslib_sub] wants topic /scan to have datatype/md5sum [sensor_msgs/Imu/6a62c6daae103f4ff57a132d6f95cec2], but our version has [sensor_msgs/LaserScan/90c7ef2dc6895d81024acba2ac42f369]. Dropping connection.

I have seen similar answered Q&As however, I am using Noetic so seems like the issue doesn't apply.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm pretty new to golang.

Hello, as clearly stated in the error message, the message type on both publisher and subscriber must be the same. In this case, you have to edit the Go code and switch from sensor_msgs.Imu to sensor_msgs.LaserScan.
