Progress of this library/ maturity and overlap with other

Dear reader,
As I just started using this package I was wondering if anyone is still maintaining this or has been updating the code (maybe in another repository) since I don't want to spend much time learning a package that has little or no support.

Another matter is that the import is the same as the J1939 spinoff from the python-can package and hence I guess these two are not able to exist together? Anyway, I wondered if anyone has compared these two packages and maybe development could then be continued with this one or the other at https://github.com/milhead2/python-j1939 ?
