I don't recall why I didn't originally use pandoc. We should process our test documents in parallel and compare the output.

Well, for my part I tried Pandoc and it wasn't compatible with either computer I had access to. Unfortunately, Word-to-Markdown doesn't seem to allow converting folders worth of docs at once. What metrics would you be comparing?

In theory, you could write a shell script to loop through a folder and use the command line interface.

In theory yes, but I don't know how - hence why I've spent the past couple days looking for a premade tool. It turns out there are a number of single-document converters, and one directory converter which I haven't managed to get working.
