I was randomly dragging and dropping the endpoint of the route and this often resulted in new waypoints being added to the map. It seems to happen quite often when the 'drag and drop' motion is done quickly.

What browser, OS are you using? I am not able to reproduce this.

I am using chrome. This probably isn't too high of priority as you have to move the mouse pretty rapidly to reproduce it. It is easily resolved by moving the mouse more slowly as you drop the waypoint.
