Describe the feature you'd like to have.
the RamenDR team has periodically been getting issues with rsync-tls hanging or taking longer than expected - sometimes due to network issues, or sometimes due to cephfs - and possibly other undiagnosed issues as well.

They would like to be able to turn on debug logging in these situations to be able to gather more information.

  • Ideally I think it would be nice to be able to pass in -v, -vv or -vvv to rsync-tls
  • Possibly we could allow setting the --debug flag as well?
  • stunnel - any debug needed there? It looks like we may already log in debug mode.

What is the value to the end user? (why is it a priority?)

How will we know we have a good solution? (acceptance criteria)

Closing, we have an implementation for a debug mode as seen in #1267. This should be common across all mover types, and will allow for users to manually run through mover scripts.
