We used the Viterbi algorithm (a.k.a "leuven") because we used the implementation from LeuvenMapMatching. You can check the following articles regarding the Viterbi algorithm:

It is written that Leuven used hidden markov model with non - emitting states.
I found article: "Meert Wannes, Mathias Verbeke, “HMM with Non-Emitting States for Map Matching”, European Conference on Data Analysis (ECDA), Paderborn, Germany, 2018." in leuven documentation.
But there is no access to this article.
Could you help me with that ? Is it possible?
