loadDocuments returns Unable to find any GraphQL type definitions for...

I'm trying to get into using stitching, but before I can do that I need to get my schemas read. I'm using apollo server, and have my schema defined in a schema.js file. When I try to feed the file into a loadDocuments function the server crashes with the error

Unable to find any GraphQL type definitions for the following pointers:
        
          - ./testSchema.js

I have a file called gatewaySchema.js that looks like this

Can someone point me in the direction as to why it can't load this schema?

loadDocuments is for loading operation documents not schema. So you should either use loadSchema or loadTypeDefs

Has the functionality changed? The documentation here looks very similar to what I'm doing. https://www.graphql-tools.com/docs/schema-loading#code-file-loader

It shows how to use loaders. and in that example loadDocuments is used. You still need to use loadSchema or loadTypeDefs for schema files.
