better make the toc box float at the top right corner of the content(even when the user scroll down the lengthy page). This allows users to have a quick look at the page structure and quickly jump to the part of the page they want.

@andrewchenshx I'm not sure exactly what this would look like. What do you mean by top right corner? Like a little scrollable box?

my fault.
for the top-right corner or upper-right corner, the key point here is the toc box should be always visible to the user, wherever at the content/page the user is reading. of course, if there are too many entries in the toc, the toc box may occupy the whole height of the page, then it will look like a sidebar on the right side.
