pass through full algorithms section to clean-up and prep as demo

The algorithms section is what I want to present as the example of where I'm hoping this project will lead. Clean up the various chapters to be more presentable.

need to covert all important code blocks to well-documented and tested functions in iab (and subsequently skbio).

should use %psource to print this code (instead of inspect.getsource, as the former supports syntax highlighting) but need to figure out how to get it to print in the cell output block rather than to the pager (created issue: ipython/ipython#5410).
