I'm trying to use aplpy's make_rgb_cube function with JWST data and I get an error from the reproject package that it's unable to determine which HDU to use - as JWST data has multi-extension HDUs. is it possible to provide support for such data, so that I can use aplpy for JWST data? (hack suggestions welcome too!)

I had the same issue; I ended up making a new FITS file containing only the HDU I wanted to use. It works but it's pretty clumsy and I would love to hear if anyone found a better solution.
