I've been looking at this today with target-duckdb and dbt-duckdb meltano plugins

This is currently broken because target-duckdb uses a newer version of duckdb than dbt-duckdb, and attempting to upgrade dbt-duckdb causes similar issues to #7

The suggestion is to use target-parquet, which would allow you to use dbt-duckdb to load and transform the parquet files - see duckdb/dbt-duckdb#66
