This is not related to the code. I post it here because I'm referring to an ebook (though seems that it's the 4th release), so not sure what's happening in your latest book :)
In 3.5.2 Agglomerative Clustering

The following three choices are implemented in scikit-learn
ward ... average ... complete...

We now have the forth choice single (smallest minimum distance). Maybe it's worthwhile to mention it.

I think the 4th release is the newest (using sklearn 0.20).
Generally I'd prefer if you could give feedback for the text on the O'Reilly website:
