Preferences not working #6
Comments
Thanks for the encouragement! I had a LOT of help from one of the original developers of Wabbitemu, who really brought a majority of the functionality to wxWabbitemu today. That said, this is still a pretty young project - a lot of the functionality that exists within the original Wabbitemu hasn't been ported to wxWabbitemu yet, and this includes the Preferences that you tried to access! (So nope, it's not just you!) Eventually, if we get to a point where wxWabbitemu has the original functionality, and it is relatively stable, we'll definitely consider bringing wxWabbitemu to the repos. For now, if you think that builds from our side are necessary, let us know and we can start making binary releases for you (and others!) to use. If you have any C/C++/wxWidgets knowledge (or want to learn), feel free to help out with the effort! Otherwise, I'll just keep this issue open anyways, since that's something I need to do eventually... |
I liked to know a bit of the history behind this project, and about the repos I agree with you. I am studying Informatics Engineering and I'm on the first year learning Java. I know the ropes of it (Java) and I believe that I could do something on my free time to learn what is necessary to learn and contribute to this project. |
Just want to note that preferences still don't work, over 2 years later. Was this project abandoned? |
@Fabian42 I haven't been able to commit any time on my projects, unfortunately - and this includes wxWabbitemu as well. The comment I made above still stands, where this project is mostly incomplete, with the exception of the core engine. That said, I welcome any developers who would like to contribute and/or take over this project - mainly the goals would be to bring the feature parity up to the original, and potentially provide wxWidgets 3.x support as well for newer distros.\ If you are interested (including @D-eject, whose reply I didn't see for a couple of years!), let me know and I'd be more than happy to try and help in any way I can. |
Today I found this project, and man I wish I found it earlier. It's really pretty good. I look foward to see this on the repositories. Keep up the good work.
Still, I found a little problem, that is the Preferences option doesn't work. I don't know if this affects other people or if it just me that have this problem.
I am using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS x64.
