DDD ContextMaps proofed quite useful for the context analysis of a system as I can differentiate the relationship to external systems by using the collaboration patterns. The benefit of these patterns is that they describe the political power/ influence my system (and its team) has on the external systems i.e. whether I can negotiate an API change, whether I am informed about future API changes or whether I have to conform with anything that comes from this external system - which could be the case for government-regulations.
