This issue is to capture activities related to whether we would have new requirements to handle with regards to supporting Windows platforms.

Relating to #343 (comment) (and https://cygwin.com/pipermail/cygwin-announce/2022-January/010438.html) and that cygwin will no longer be supported on certain Windows versions (though it may not impact the versions that we care about).

Determine if this is an issue that should concern us
Determine what points in TKG code would need updating/addressing if no cygwin is available
