While I was working on the World Happiness Report demo, I realized that it would be good to have a way to preview/test/check if the metrics and region setup is done correctly. For example:

  • List all the regions with links to their corresponding pages. This will allow us to check that the URL / filesystem routing was done correctly.
  • Allow the user to load some data in the metrics explorer page. We could add a dropdown so the user can select a region, and show the data for each metric for that specific region.

We could also have a script that runs some diagnostics/checks to confirm the configuration, availability of data, etc.
