How can user unmount volume without having to run "umount" in a terminal?
Is this a pending feature?

Do you want to unmount volume mounted by Mountie or any mounted volume in general?

Volumes mounted by Mountie appears in notification bar and can be unmounted using action button in there:

"Unmount All" action will unmount all mounted by Mountie volumes.

The only notification I see when inserting an USB pendrive is that Mountie needs root access (it mounts anyway), and not in notification bar (I'm using Cyanogenmod).
I don't see the notification message you show here; I suggest an application GUI launcher to manage one or more umount.
