This issue serves as a reminder that unit tests need to be created for certain HED tag functions introduced by #9033.

Jefferson's latest estimate is:

  • 1 day research
  • 2 days coding (~250 lines).

Removing the beginner-friendly label but this might be a good GSOC task for late summer or fall, not likely in the first month.
