[Win10] Stuck in setup

I have tried to install TraktForVLC a few times.
I have also tried to re-install VLC, but I keep getting stuck on "Setting up VLC to automatically use trakt's interface"

The entire log (using --loglevel DEBUG) looks like this:

Anyone able to help me out? I really want to get this working so I don't have to manually update Trakt when I watch stuff on my PC...

Same here. It worked fine for a while then stopped working after a windows update. Tryed to init the configuration again and got stuck in the loop. I've been able to make it work again after another win update. Now I'm stuck again (win version 1803). I can't update at the moment for an antivirus conflict. Will let you know if with the next windows update it works as soon as I can do it.

If it isn't already, have you tried running the .exe as administrator?

I am having the same issue unfortunately. I try to run the install again and it says it's already installed, then when it goes to uninstall it says it's not able to uninstall. Running .exe as administrator.

Wondering if the last versions of Windows changed the way to update services.
Will probably add a "manual setup" help file, as it would help getting that to work without the installer working...

So there hasn't been a commit for about 1.5 years now... (at least not in the master)...

I have dropped waiting for a fix to this issue, instead I have switched to iamkroot/trakt-scrobbler which is also the one trakt.tv links to in their apps section.
