I'm not sure what triggers this white circle to appear, but the user should be able to control whether it appears or not. In most cases, I don't want the circle, but I can't figure out how to turn it off.

Can you please add Repro steps?

I was able to reproduce this and the issue was that the hover over for the Thumbnail shows the last item hovered, but it does not clear the circle when you mouse out of the context panel. I will make a change to fix this.
