I want to gauge the ways code can be updated. As the project does accept dependency updates i have been working to update bullet: https://github.com/GunpowderGuy/overgrowth
-What about upgrading the build system and changing the c++ version used?
If allowed i would love to try and rewrite buildfiles in a modern build system with integrated package manager like build2 or xmake. Also refactor the code with features from the newest possible standard. Btw. the game is already able to compile under c++17
I gather upgrading build time dependencies is currently restricted because Overgrowth currently compiles against the steam runtime. But couldn't the steam version be compiled under a different linux distribution and just be tested against it?
