AUR packages outdated / broken

The AUR packages are broken in terms of

• mons https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mons is fairly old (2018), it is .e.g missing -x
• mons-git https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mons-git/ does not use --recursive thus later fails due to the missing libshlist

Anything we should / can do about it? Using the manual installation mode from the readme works just fine and considering how outdated it is, we might remove the aur installation hint?
