We (will shortly) have a ResourceFile providing specifying the availability in the model simulation of each piece of equipment at each facility_level.

Data to inform that ResourceFile are available from the HHFA. Indeed, @sakshimohan already has a formatted version of it.

The work is to link the equipment items in the model to those in the dataset, and to summarise the dataset into one or more scenarios that can be used in model runs.

This is a modest amount of work, and would be suitable for a student as the description of the data is useful (and publishable) in its own right.

Hi @tbhallett. It looks like Newton is available to work on this. He will talk to his supervisor but has said that he should be able to work on this in April.

We discussed the following specific tasks to completed for this issue, in chronological order -

  1. Summarise availability figures* by level and district for each equipment in the attached data extracted from the HHFA (~/Thanzi la Onse/07 - Data/HHFA_2018-19/2 clean/equipment_and_other_non_consumable_avaibility.csv)
  2. Verify that the extracted data doesn't miss any information on equipment availability from HHFA
  3. Match the equipment names in this HHFA data with the TLO model equipment codes

*This includes recoding the following categorical entries to binary data on availability -

  • AT LEAST ONE VALID
  • AVAILABLE NON VALID
  • NEVER AVAILABLE
  • NOT AVAILABLE TODAY
  • REPORTED  AVAILABLE BUT NOT SEEN

@marghe-molaro - You could perhaps hold off checking with your Master's student for now.
