I have an unconfirmed workaround, but it requires your Twitch account to be qualified for ad-free experiences.
I was experiencing frequent interruptions and ads every few seconds on a channel I was subscribed to until I filled in credential info in TwitchPotPlayer's config.ini. Fill clientID, clientSecret, and twitchLogin. Afterward, you won't receive ads when watching channels you're subscribed to via TwitchPotPlayer. It might also work if you instead have Twitch Turbo.

Twitch weaves video ads into the media stream depending on your account data. This is why it has become excessively difficult to block video ads on Twitch. Alternative Player for Twitch.tv and similar solutions likely use JavaScript to filter ads. TwitchPotPlayer does not have access to JavaScript as a pure AngelScript extension for PotPlayer. This may be resolved if it had a companion application similar to how SVP4 generates and manages AviSynth/VapourSynth scripts.

If PotPlayer extensions were granted access to javascript and/or a webview API, a lot of problems could be solved.
However, that's nigh impossible at this point with the golden age of PotPlayer having long been passed. Its developers are sun-setting PotPlayer, as is apparent by the closure of Daum TV (the streaming platform PotPlayer's chat feature was made for), disappearance of the international/multi-language forums (Korean forums are still up, but harder to find than they used to be), and the slower update release cycle from the company that supports us international users.

I don't seem to get any ads at all? This can be closed I reckon?
