In many games, it's an intentional feature where the Victory Points are slightly more difficult to calculate directly, so that players falling behind won't feel as bad, not to mention there could be surprises at the end of the game when the final numbers are calculated, when a player thought to be ahead is actually behind in VPs and vice versa.

Similarly in Imperial/2030/Asia, in an in-person game it can be tricky to calculate all the numbers in your head. The web format has made it much easier, and players behind might be discouraged to continue the game

We could implement an option when setting up the game to allow hosters optionally hide VP calculations, and only reveal at the end of the game

I think this is worth implementing! Maybe instead of displaying ??? VP we can just display nothing there? And then put them back in after the game is over.

Something to think about is at what point the configuration of a new game gets too cumbersome. But for now it's probably worth adding as an option!
