I found this post on narrated lore on reddit and thought it would be great to have something like that as intro to a new LaS game.
I'll keep this as a reminder. Also need to check out what's required to make this happen, e.g., change the loading screen, or add a new intro mode between loading and in-game...

Cool!

@msteiger already introduced a custom loading screen when you pick the PolyWorld module + Island World. It only stays up however long it takes to generate the world though.

PolyWorld's loading screen is just an override of the loadingBackground.png ...

Oh! Alright, I wasn't entirely sure how it had been done, sorry :-)

There's always the idea of getting back to MovingBlocks/Terasology#2074 and fleshing that out further. That could probably lead to a new way of getting from creating a world to entering a world.

Is it possible yet to kind of have multiple loading screen images that loop through, each being visible for a specific time range (e.g. 3-5s)

I don't think so, but maybe if the background screen can count as an animated widget somehow? 🤔 Pretty sure that's new since this issue was written

That sounds like a doable bit of work, maybe Hacktoberfest potential

Do we have animated widgets in https://github.com/MovingBlocks/TeraNUI ? 🤔

Animation support in NUI was added in MovingBlocks/Terasology#2306 (and should therefore also be part of the exracted NUI).
