Hi, it would be beneficial to have an option additional to the thoughts issue #837 that allows DHCP Scopes to incorporate automatically generated hostnames for devices that fail to respond with their actual hostname. This feature would facilitate DNS Updates for such hosts by establishing a designated namespace, like "myhost[n].domain.internal" and enabling an automated naming convention to incrementally assign names to new hosts receiving an IP address without explicitly providing their names.

Thanks for the request. Will try to get this added when the DHCP major rewrite is done.

For now, you can do this by using reserved lease and setting the hostname manually.
