What packages am I missing?

it's printed right in front of your eyes, when it failed but you typed make anyway. : configure: error: sdl is required to build desmume. you gotta install sdl2-devel. the best documentation for which packages to install is the CI build, check the yml files in .github. there are some apt-get statements.
