KB5022836 keeps failing for me with 0x80073701

No other updates have failed before this one and none of the various troubleshooting/repair steps advised on various sites resolved it. SFC and DISM come back clean and CBS.log shows nothing of interest.

I tried every advised repair and resolution option and have a lot of Windows experience - but in the end I gave up on getting the update installed for now.

I even stopped the update service and BITS, deleted the SoftwareDistribution folder, and rebooted - but still the update fails and there are no clues in the event log (it just repeats the error) or any other logs I have come across.

That said, I am only speculating that it may be caused by the debloater. I have no hard evidence for that though.

Thanks for your fantastic work @Sycnex!

Maybe this work for you. My 22H2 update failed - a scenario I've experienced previously with microsoft, so I went to a section that allows downloading the update for an offline install. I clicked the button and it asked if I wanted to update the machine I was on immediately or did I want to install on another box. I selected immediately, and it just did it.

Thanks for the tip @what-aboot. Unfortunately when I try that the installer says, "The following updates were not installed"
