Description

When entering and leaving incognito mode, the favicons of any bookmarks are reverted to their first-letter-on-solid-color placeholders.

Environment

First encountered on:

  • Device: Google Pixel 8 Pro
  • OS: Android 14
  • Version: 1.9.24 (F-Droid)

Then, for the screencast below, successfully reproduced on:

  • Device: Google Pixel 3a (virtual)
  • OS: Android 14
  • Version: 1.9.24 (slions.net)

To reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behaviour:

  1. Open one or more bookmarks, so their favicons are retrieved
  2. Open the bookmarks page to verify the favicons have been stored successfully
  3. Enter incognito mode
  4. Open the bookmarks page again – the favicons are still there
  5. Exit incognito mode
  6. Open the bookmarks page once more – the favicons are gone

Expected behaviour

The favicons should persist and not be replaced by placeholders.
