Start here to find your triggers

Triggers refers to whatever causes your symptoms. Some triggers are hard to find: you may have a low-level intolerance to a trigger that's in many of your household products, or that adds up over time in your body.

  • Ingestions: such as foods, drinks, ingredients, additives, preservatives, artificial colors and flavors and sweeteners, lactose, gluten, sulfites, salicylates, caffeine, nightshades, shellfish, soy, eggs, nuts, oats, wheat, nickel.

  • Encounters: such as environmental allergens, irritants, toxins, bee stings, snake bites, household products, pollens, mold, mildew, dust, mites, pet dander, pollution, smoke, excess carbon monoxide.

  • Chemicals: such as sodium lauryl sulphate, parabens, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colors, synthetic materials, dyes, triclosan, propylene glycol, fragrances, makeup, shampoo, soap, cleaners, fabric treatments, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, bug sprays, paints, solvents, varnishes, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, outgasses, plastics, latex, fuels, metals.

  • Medications: such as penicillin, sulfa drugs, aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), insulin, iodine, birth control, hormone replacement therapy, seizure medications, x-ray contrast dyes, additives, preservatives, colors, flavors, tablet binders especially dextrose a.k.a. corn sugar.

  • Sensations: such as overheating, overexertion, overtiredness, overwork, temperature changes, air pressure changes, weather changes, vibrations, sounds, smells, stress, fear, anxiety, frustration, electromagnetic fields (EMFs).

  • Internals: such as hormone imbalances, microbiome imbalances, gastrointestinal distress, mycotoxins, bacteria, germs, viruses, parasites, algae, Lyme disease, Borrelia, Bartonella, Babesia.
