Cant recive SMS Messages using this app.

So, im not sure what is the issue, i use my motorola s6 plus with android PTBS29.401-58-8 and i uninstalled most of the google related software, like google service framework, but i dont recall it being a dependency. When i put my sim into a Google pixel 6 with the proprietary messaging app it works. It stopped working like 1.5 months and I dont know what caused it, already asked my carrier but they cant help me.
Let me know if i can provide any more context, any help appreciated.

I have also uninstalled Google Play Services (on my Samsungs) and I receive texts with Messenger, so I doubt this is a cause.

@Spike-from-NH Yup, also it worked for a while without them, so something else must cause the issues.

Receiving MMS still doesn't work.
