now I have scoop, can I get rid of Cygwin?

Today I learned about scoop and fell in love immediately. Installed:

• emacs with just-in-time compilation https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/GccEmacs#h5o-13

scoop bucket add kiennq-scoop https://github.com/kiennq/scoop-misc
scoop install emacs-k

• rg, rga
• fd
• fzf
• vcredist2022

Such speed! Such elegance!
I'm especially impressed that packages I often use (eg perl, emacs, rg, pandoc) come with very recent versions.

I've used cygwin for 10 years. Always had some troubles, eg

• installed Strawberry perl separately because the one in Cygwin cannot compile (XS packages)

So, can I get rid of Cygwin, or is that folly?

Scoop is not a replacement for Cygwin - if you need unix-y tools and build chains etc., you'll still need it. A better aternative to Cygwin is MSYS2, btw. I use both MSYS2 and Scoop.

scoop install main/msys2
scoop install main/mingw-nuwen

And still, when I try to install a Perl module that uses XS, I get this error:
