Incompatible with Vertical Overview (Cosmic Workspaces)

Describe the Bug

With Cosmic Workspaces enabled, Desktop Cube will cause the desktop to freeze. No keyboard or mouse interaction is possible except you can log out, or switch to a TTY .

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Install Desktop Cube
2. Enable Cosmic Workspaces
3. Desktop will freeze. It may not do so instantly but it will happen.

Expected Behavior

No freezing.

System

Hi there! Thanks for the report. There was a similar issue, #2, however your description is more specific so I closed the other one in favor of this one here.

Yet I think that both extensions are basically incompatible right now. It is not only the freezing, but the overall layout and animations that are pretty messed up when both extensions are enabled. Getting this to look right (and IMHO a vertical cube looks weird in the first place) will be quite difficult, I guess.

Nevertheless, if anybody wants to make those extensions compatible, I am happily accepting merge requests! Feel free to drop a note here if you want to work on this. Then we can discuss which parts of the code may need some adjustments!
