The latest version of the client (not Experimental) (can't get in far enough to get a version number but it was just updated on Google Play within the last week) can no longer connect to my server.

It just says "URL is invalid".

I've tried it with a port number, without a port number, with https and http and same thing.

Useless.

Not sure what version you are on as you have made no mention of it.

Native Android is now no longer being developed.

There have been other similar instances of this which I believe are due to using self signed certificates. Suggest you check them.

If you are using the 'Beta' version 4.x then it is actually React Native, and you should follow up in that repo.

Couldn't get into the app to mention the version, whatever is on https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=chat.rocket.android

So you're redoing the apps... again?

Login from a browser

Login from a browser doesn't really tell you what version the client is does it?

The server is this (running in a Docker container):

Release 2.1.1 (#15611) (Apps Engine Version: 1.6.0)
Commit: 12770480703e8f4c142687c19ea6a1557b703022

Clearly not.

If you already have the app installed and update it then it should automagically upgrade to the React Native version (4.0.2.x at this moment in time)

To check your installed version:

Go to Play Store, Look in your Installed Apps, select the app, look under "What's New" and scroll down to find the installed version.

It can also be found under "About this app" and also Settings, App, App info, right at the bottom.

None of his requires the app itself to be running.

Yes. It just isn't called that. Just install Rocket.Chat from Play Store.

You can see the version listed here:
