Rehike has a lot of issues. A lot of these issues, that we have put off fixing for a long time. This megathread is to keep track of the major issues that Rehike has, that should probably be fixed before 0.7 is out of its development phase.

  • The Channels4 model is a big heaping pile of shit. The code is so awfully organized, and it can cause unexplainable bugs that happen without any error or anything (like Channel videos view and sort options disappear when sorting by most popular #254). It needs a rewrite.
    • Relating to Channels4, community should be fixed. But that is more related to comments than channels.
  • Speaking of comments, the awful comment model. The way it is currently done is horrible. The handle fix using the Data API just inexplicably doesn't work, no errors or anything. Needs a rewrite.
  • The current sign-in system also sucks. It doesn't allow for localization signed out, and it only allows one Google account to be signed in at once, or else it breaks. DEFINITELY needs a rewrite.

Is the Comment model "rewrite necessity" still a thing that definitely needs to be done? Or is it a byproduct of an issue at the time of this issue's creation?

Still something that definitely needs to be done.
