[text](link) markdown not working on channel.send()

I have to send multiple messages in a channel as response to an interaction. So I used (example code)

channel = interaction.guild.get_channel(interaction.channel_id)
await interaction.response.defer(ephemeral = False, thinking = True)
for message in message_list:
    # message = "[example](https://www.google.com/)"
    await channel.send(message)
await interaction.followup.send("Done", ephemeral = False)

But the above code just sends the text as is, not rendered as a hyperlink.

If I use interaction.followup.send() or interaction.response.send() instead, the text is converted to hyperlink.

I want the messages to be continuous though. Therefore, interaction.followup is not an option, as it makes each message look like a reply.

Any ideas?

The [text](link) syntax is only supported by Discord when sent in embeds, interaction responses, and webhooks.

This is the intended behavior of the Discord API, similarly, if a regular user sends a link with that syntax in the content of a message, it does not render as a hyperlink.

Ahh, I knew that users aren't allowed to use that syntax, but didn't know that bots are also limited in how they are allowed to use it.

Is there any reason as to why such common functionality is not provided by discord?

@SurajMeena Note, I do not work for Discord so I can't say for sure. In recent markdown updates, Discord has been experimenting with the functionality but I think it's not rolled out due to safety concerns as it allows people to mask URLs with other content and can be used to trick users to visit malicious sites.
