SAT and ACT based on outdated scale #1710

The new SAT (in effect since 2016) is based out of 1600, with evidence based reading and writing making up 800 and math making up the other 800. The writing/essay portion of the SAT does not factor into the new SAT's scores. The information displayed on the consumer website and provided by the developer API seems to be on the outdated 2400 scale that was used prior to 2016.

Likewise, the ACT information appears to be outdated as well. Although the ACT is still out of 36, the ACT has four tests that combine together to form the composite score: the English test, the Mathematics test, the Reading test, and the Science test. Again, the writing/essay test does not factor into the composite score. Looking at the API documentation, it appears that the ACT used is not based on the latest version of this assessment.

Almost all students applying to colleges now or in the future will have taken the new and updated versions of the SAT/ACT, so displaying the outdated test information is not very helpful to prospective students and applicants.

The March 2016 change to the SAT is briefly mentioned at the top of page 11 on the Data Documentation PDF, but the data API seems to still not resemble the new scoring system. The discrepancies to the ACT are not mentioned anywhere that I can find.
