Feature request power down

It would be awesome to be able to wire up an external shutdown button to the RPi such that when I hit, the pi did a /bin/shutdown -h now so that it can be correctly shutdown without just yanking the power plug and perhaps have a status LED on the button that showed if it was running or not.
