First of all, I am extremely sorry if this feature already exists, I have failed to find it. Also, as I am no Dev, I have no idea how difficult implementing this is, so don't hesitate to say if this is out of the feasibility scope.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When I'm doing interval training, I cannot seem to be able to see the parts of my training when I was doing (for instance) 45 seconds at maximal aerobic speed and then 1 min 30 sec at rest pace for 10 times. Thus I cannot monitor if, retrospectively, I went too fast or too slow.

Describe the solution you'd like
Ideally, I would love to be able to (manually, I feel like doing that automatically from the recorded data sounds tremendously tedious) edit the intervals according to time after the training session is done.
For instance, instead of seeing my average pace every km (or any given distance), being able to display my pace for my 25min of warm up, the 10 times I went fast slow and then the 20min of slow pace when going back home. Same thing with distance if more relevant, for instance 5 times 3km at marathon pace.

Describe alternatives you've considered

  • In an absolute ideal world, OpenTracks would/could sync with an interval timer app or a Bluetooth-compatible stopwatch (I have no idea if that exists) to automatically create the intervals accordingly.
  • A new activity type called "Interval Training" or anything similar could be created where editing the intervals is possible.

Here, I went for around 3.5km at slow pace an then went for 6 250m laps at fast-ish pace alternating with 6 laps at rest pace, and then I went home. I cannot see how slow I went when trying to go faster and how un-resting I was when trying to 😁

EDIT : Misleading typo (chrono watch ≠ stopwatch)
