EGI is a federation of publicly funded computing and storage resource providers for research and innovation. This issue tracks deployement of services based on OpenDreamKit's ecosystem on such infrastructures.

Latest status:

  • April 27, 2017: @minrk and @nthiery had a phone call on with Gergely Sipos and Enol Fernández. Enol is in the process of deploying a JupyterHub instance, with persistent storage and lightweight authentication (facebook, twitter, AAI, ...).
  • October 29th of 2017: meeting in Brussels with Enol, Gergely, Tiziana Ferrari.
  • September 2017: Experimental JupyterHub instance running
  • February 2018: Experimental Binder instance running
  • March 2018: Enol visited us in Orsay for our JupyterHub/BinderHub coding sprint
  • Upcoming: signature of an agreement between EGI and some Jupyter partner (presumably Simula) for the maintenance of this service

All in all, this collaboration is working very well, with complementary roles (software provider / infrastructure provider) and a strong desire to collaborate. It gives an excellent occasion to get feedback on the ease of deployment of our technology stack on a large e-infrastructure.

Hi @minrk,

Did you get any news from Gergely and Enol? If not, that could be a good time for a ping.

Cheers,

The binderhub instance at https://binderhub.fedcloud-tf.fedcloud.eu seems broken. When launching a notebook, I only see
