In case of bugs in the future, I would suggest to do something like the following of course it is still a beta so is not that big of a deal yet, however latest in normal rounds instead of just giving people land at a certain point, why not give them 2 options:

1.) Get ?? acres immediately via a button in Daily Bonus perhaps (probably best to put it on home land, have this button available for the next 16 or 24 hours from point of giving the compensation)
2.) Let you do a free explore where you can decide in which land type they come back (will take 12 hours) but gives only 80% of the acres

This would make it a bit less of a loss to the players, reason for the 2 options would be for example:
Bug is fixed and compensation is to be given, if this is done at 11 hours after OOP, then 9 hour attackers will have made their 2nd set of hits already, where as the 12 hour attacker possibly can't attack the target anymore which he/she has spend ops to get and is ready to hit.

With the above option you can either get your land immediately, but it will be home type, or you can get less land in later and it will be your preferred land types.

On top of this it would be good to have 2 possibilities for compensation, attacker compensation and explorer compensation (not sure when explorer would be required however might be best to have this option immediately as well, this way you could get the acres in as build cost compensated or not in the case of an explorer)
