I came to the new design this morning and found myself in a strange loop. I wonder if it will be a nuisance to others.

When selecting an editor from this new look for the editor options:

You have two ways to close this "popup" but because this popup takes up the entire window, consider a third option users may gravitate towards:

If you click Back or hit a keyboard shortcut that activates history, you (might) leave the site.

@SpaceShot Thanks!

This could be corrected by managing History state when user is on the page - and (which is harder) when page starts. The page is already using simple History management to allow bookmarking for main navigation:

As each modals has its own has, we should be able to manage state.
Thoughts?
